It can be simply defined as the technology responsible for on-demand availability of computing resources eg. data storage, processing power etc without the user owning the hardware. To bring it to lay man’s term, in the past companies needed to own their own server room, which housed servers for processing and storing all company data – today, a company can exist without ever owning such infrastructure!
